Born on 17th February 1873 in Reach, baptised in Burwell on 16th March 1873 , son of Francis and Jane HARDING (née DIVER)
He married Agnes SMITH (born Fincham, Norfolk in 1875) on 16th February 1895, they lived at July Cottages, Cambridge Road, Newmarket until she died in 1938. 1881 census...Aged 8 he was at High Town, Burwell with his father Francis HARDING [29] farm labourer born Reach; his mother Jane [31] born Burwell; sisters Harriet [6] and Annie [3] born Burwell. 1891 census...He has not been found in this census (possibly in the Army). His parents were at Upper Portland Farm, Burwell with his sisters Emily [9] and Rhoda [6] both born in Burwell. 1901 census...Aged 28, a labourer, he was at High Street, Burwell with his wife Agnes; daughters Agnes [5] and Emily [3] and son Alexander [4 months] All the children were born in Burwell. 1911 census...Aged 38 , a labourer, he was at Grandstand Cottage with his wife; daughters Emily, Thora [7] and Irene [2] and son Bernard [4]. The new children all born in Exning. 1 child had died. In the 1939 register, a widower, a general labourer, he was at Rowley Mile Stand Cottage with daughter Annie Irene [20-9-1908] and son Alec [20-10-1911] a bricklayer. Laban died in Eaton House, High Street, Newmarket. No-one seems to know what he was doing in that building, perhaps visiting the dentists on the 2nd floor,but eye witnesses or staff there have not mentioned him
